Poetry on the move: My Ma Said I Was A Strange Duck

My ma said
I was a strange duck
When I came to this existence
I came first with my buttocks

She used to say
In summer you dress
Yourself for winter
And in winter you dress
Yourself for summer
You got it all bottom up

She blamed her reproach
On breech approach

Sometimes my ma and I
Disagreed
She wanted me to stay
When I wanted to leave

She used to say
You don't care about anything
You give shit about everything

It's because you came
Into the world
With your buttocks first
You got it all bottom up
